August 28, 2126

The First Life100+ Member

Today, Julia Bennett turns 100 years old.

She wakes shortly after 6:30 a.m. in a house overlooking Puget Sound. She walks outside with her coffee, checks the morning health report generated from her overnight biometrics, and begins the day with a three-mile walk.

Later, she will have lunch with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tomorrow, she is leaving for Vancouver with friends.

Julia doesn't think of herself as particularly old. More importantly, she doesn't live like someone who is 100.

Her chronological age is 100. Many measures of her functional and biological health remain decades younger. She lives independently. She travels. She exercises. She remains intellectually engaged. She volunteers. She participates in her community.

Her life has included illness, injuries, loss, stress and periods when she didn't take particularly good care of herself.
